THIS IS PWR RACING

PWR Racing was founded in 2012 and have pushed the development of touring car racing together with our partners and coworkers ever since.

MILESTONES

2012

PWR Racing is founded by the racing driver Daniel Haglöf and business man Peter “Poker” Wallenberg with a goal to change existing norms in racing and develop our sport.

The same duo owns and runs the team today, still with the same philosophy to grow organically and long term with our sponsors and partners.

2014

PWR Racing introduce the first woman in 15 years to the STCC, the Scandinavian premiere championship in touring car racing. She scores her first podium in her rookie season. At least one female driver have been in the team ever since.

The team hires its first full time employees and starts to build the foundation for what is our HQ today.

2015

PWR Racing wins the first STCC race despite substantially less budget than the competition.

The team wins Formula Renault 1.6 in Scandinavia with a completely new junior team. The team wins the PRO/AM Swedish GT championship the same season.

2016

PWR Racing signs a four year contract with the Volkswagen Group to represent SEAT in the STCC. The goal is to win both the drivers and team championships within three years.

The team designs and builds three SEAT Leon STCC in record time together with SEAT’s designers in Spain and main partner Combitech in Sweden.

The teams current workshop, showroom and HQ is built with team partner CTEK in Vikmanshyttan, Sweden.

2017

PWR Racing wins the STCC drivers championship following a total of 21 podiums with Robert Dahlgren.

It’s the first STCC title for both Dahlgren and the team. The fruit of an extensive labour restructuring the team and hiring a full time engineer.

PWR Racing starts the development of PWR001, an electric race car project with key team partners. The goal is to show a track ready car within a year.

2018

PWR Racing and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky rewrites motorsport history when she becomes the first female driver to win an STCC race. Both her chief mechanic and tyre technician was young female motorsport talents.

PWR Racing wins the first team championships title in the STCC and fulfills the promise made to SEAT and the VW group. The team has grown substantially and developed its own simulation model to optimise performance in the race cars.

PWR Racing has become one of the strongest teams in Scandinavia and receives a request from SEAT Spain to represent the CUPRA brand in WTCR, the world touring car cup.

The fully electric race car PWR001 is shown to press and public during the STCC final at Mantorp Park. A car developed and built by the team and key partners.

2019

PWR Racing debuts in WTCR and finishes top rookies by a fair margin following one race victory and multiple podiums. All in a field of competitors full of former world championship winning drivers and teams.

The team wins its second drivers championship title on home soil with Robert Dahlgren and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky becomes the first female driver to take pole position in the Scandinavian top championship.

The development of PWR001 is progressing and the car is shown on large events, with team partners and the STCC.

2020

PWR Racing debuts the new CUPRA León Competición as one of the first teams in the world.

Despite limited preparations ahead of the season, the team fights for the top from the first race weekend.

Robert Dahlgren finishes as runner-up, just seven points from former world champion Rob Huff and the team secures the team title.

2021

PWR Racing beats plenty of records during the 2021 STCC season and claims both the drivers’ and teams’ championship in superior fashion.

Robert Dahlgren and Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky finishes first and second in the drivers’ championship with a total of 13 wins and 26 podium finishes. The team championship has PWR Racing as champions with a margin of 176 points to the closest competitor.

Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky writes history again as the first female driver ever to finish in the top three overall of the STCC.

Combined with the STCC programme, the development of the PWR001 in cooperation with Skellefteå Kraft progressed. The interest for the future of touring car racing is huge wherever the car turns up.

2022

2022 saw PWR Racing breaking new grounds once more by claiming a historic grand slam in the STCC.

The team clinched the teams’ title, Robert Dahlgren the drivers’ title and Axel Bengtsson the juniors’ title, a feat never before accomplished in the history of the STCC.

The success has seen PWR Racing climbing to become the fourth most successful STCC team ever with a total of nine titles.

The next step in the electrification continued alongside the STCC programme, with the all-new PWR002 making its debut during a media launch in Helsingborg and its public on track debut during the Mantorp season finale.
